The Jacaranda trees are out at the moment, beautiful lilac colour.
Everything is green and there is no colour other than these trees. They are all
invasive though, brought in from South America, and the Caribbean. These
are some of best shots, shame about the roads and signs.
We had big thunderstorm pass through one evening and next day had a carpet
of purple as well as purple in the trees. looked fantastic.
Typical (big) Queensland house. Built on stilts to stop the termites (and
presumably get a bit of a draught under the floor.
Whilst looking for lunch we came across the Mary River Festival...
Guess where Stephen coms from?
This is ceramic mural in Gympie depicting major town events. Guess
what two were.
This is typical pub in Mapleton, called the Mapleton Tavern. The boys
had a huge roast beef roll here. They asked for horseradish sauce and
smothered meat with it. When the chef came out they complimented her on
her roast and asked her how she cooked it. The lamb was pot roasted – nice
one boys.
