One of the things you see for sale in markets are freshwater clams (they call them mussels). Anyway, as we were driving back from Tavuni fort saw people swimming in river. These were all women, the men, they said were drinking and talking, no change there then. These women dive for clams at low water. Here are a couple in the water, trailing collecting baskets behind them.
