We radioed GOS on arrival. These our agents in Galapagos - you cannot enter unless you have one. Handsome (very) young man called Diego came on board and brought with him the port naval officer and a quarantine lady. You have to have a fumigation certificate - which we picked up in Panama ($40) – in order to enter Galapagos. You can get it done on site apparently. Quarantine lady went through the entire boat, you are not supposed to bring any fresh fruit with you, I admitted that I had 2 oranges on board but she let me keep those! I assume the quantity was not enough to warrant confiscation.

We went to the passport office twice. Closed in the morning because they were escorting illegal immigrants to air port! Changed our anchorage and went closer to shore. Had to use bow and stern anchors as very busy.

Again we do not need to use dingy an lots of taxi’s working 24/7.

From these taxi’s you also get a good view of the local wild life.
