Noon to Noon report on the 28th March 12
We have managed to sail a full 24 hours, unfortunately the wind has now a dropped to between 8 and 18 knots from the South East. We are now only sailing at 3 to 5 knots, but still in the direction we need to go, but slowly. We managed to keep the cruising shoot up for the whole 24 hours hence the improvement in our distance travelled. The weather prediction is for this strength of wind is to last for the next 2 to 3 days, so it is going to be slow!!
The sea state is now smooth.
We have just been visited (at 09.00) by a pod of 50 to 60 dolphins. They stayed around the boat for about 10 minutes, leaping and riding our bow wave. Otherwise we have seen flying fish and a few sea birds.
Only one ship seen on the AIS, it was a cargo vessel 186 m long heading for Panama.
STILL No fish yet!!!
Karacool set off with us, and her position is South of us by about 58 miles, almost level pegging.
Camelot set off on Tuesday and is now 477 miles behind us.
Marita 3 set off on Tuesday and is now ? miles behind us. (no position report today)
Cordelia an American boat we met on Saturday night before we left, has just joined the radio net. They also left on Sunday. There position is 90 miles ahead of us.
Next report on the 29th.
