Arrived Bequai 17th January.  Windy anchorage.  We anchored next to small cargo freighter so only an idiot would anchor beside us.  Needless to say an idiot did try to anchor but with a lot of shouting from other boats moved on.   Water maker end cap had split again and the replacement ones have two outlets.  We did not have blank cap for the spare outlet so Paul and Stephen spent all day going from shop to shop before Paul found the perfect brass bolt to fit.

Town was delightful.  Me about to have a well deserved rum punch.

We hired a taxi to go see the sites!  This mostly consisted of being told there is X hotel, Y hotel, the school etc.  Taxi was small open truck with canopy to protect you from sunshine.  Stephen and me jawing.

Remains of sugar cane factory (I think).

How’s this for typical beach view.

There is a turtle sanctuary on the island and here they are.  Cute little ones, sorry about the picture quality.  They just float on the surface of the ocean hoping to bump into something to eat.  They feed them on canned tuna.  The sanctuary raises them until about 3 – 5 years old and then released them.
