Yesterday we went on a taxi tour of the northern part of the island brilliant. Lots of rain forest habitat with various plants, plus sugar cane and pineapples, We stopped at a vegetable stand to buy vegetables. The Lots of different yams (I think) – didn’t buy any of those but did purchase some passion fruit.

Bananas of all different sizes. These very small ones had a very intense taste

The Atlantic coast of the island has very dramatic coastline so lots of photographic opportunities.

We then stopped at a fishing village, waves/rollers crashing in. A boat was being guided into the harbour by a man waving a red scarf in the direction boat should go. He was then joined by man waving an orange scarf doing the same thing, so I think the colours were insignificant.

The boat delivered some chicken wire and few other things, plus two passengers.  Then one of the shore guy’s stripes down to his bathers,  and takes boat out into harbour, anchors and swims back.

Rhu bought a couple of maracas.

We then had a very interesting lunch in what looked like a falling down shack but had a lovely patio out back overlooking one of the bays. We had chicken and just about a taste of anything else you would care to mention, interesting.
