24 hour sailing report

The wind speed varied again from 3 knots up to 10 knots during the last 24 hours. We have gone from sailing to motor sailing, back to sailing, back to motor sailing, and finally back to motor sailing again. As you can see the last 24 hours has been very variable.

We have had rain squalls all night of the 11t / 12th, most passing directly over us!!!

The weather gods have given us a spectacular firework display for our last night at sea on route to Antigua. The displays when they are miles away are spectacular enough, but when they are directly overhead they are unbelievable.

The latest weather forecast gives very little wind for the next 18 hours, so we will continue to motor sailing.

It looks like we will be just off the coast of Antigua at sunset today, (sunset local time is 17.20 Local time is UTC (GMT) - 5 hours) so we will be anchoring for the night and enter Jolly Harbour in the morning of the 13th December 2011.

Not much wild life again day today, just flying fish and a few sea birds.

We are now sailing in company with three other boats, Moin a German boat about 40 feet long, and Marite 111 also 40 feet and Karacool the 53 foot CAT who is also one of our group boats.

Karacool arrive yesterday.

Moin is about 149 miles behind with Marita 111 about 116 miles behind us.

Hopefully my next posting will be news of our arrival.
