Tall Ships race, Russell, Bay of Islands

Yesterday was the annual Tall Ships and Classic Boats race
organised by the Russell Boat Club. The day started cloudy, but it
cleared and turned out to be beautiful with sunny skies and light
winds. It's a fun race, not taken seriously, with water bombs thrown -
even we got water-bombed and we weren't in the race! We did follow them
for the first part of the course and here are a few of the photos we
took.
   Not a race participant! A cruise ship that came in
to see the race.
