Lifted up the anchor and headed out to sea yesterday at 15.30. So the above is our first noon position, taken today. Yesterday evening the winds were very light and so it was motor sailing so the boat didn't wallow in the swell. So far today has been a great sail. We're making between 5 and 6 kts, but have a favourable current of between 1 and 2 kts, so speed over the ground has been 7 to 8kts. Hope this continues! At this speed our first 24 hour run should be around the 150 miles mark, which is a good start.

To our surprise, 9 other boats left the anchorage at different times during the day yesterday and although we are now widely scattered, we are able to talk using the SSB radio and swap positions and weather conditions. We hope to remain in contact throughout the passage.
