On Wednesday we had a great day out in Lisbon, sightseeing - the first time we've been sightseeing proper since we left the UK. The train takes 30 minutes from Cascais to get there. The weather was perfect - blue skies, temperature around 23c and a gentle warm wind. We went to the site of EXPO98 on the Metro (much nicer than our underground). The whole area of Lisbon that was done up for EXPO98 is still very new and very well designed, with stunning new office buildings and stations, new parks with water features that you can watch all day, a cable car along the river front (the river is about 3 miles wide at this point) and the Oceanarium which is one of the best we have ever seen. It's the largest in Europe and took nearly 4 hours to go round. We had planned to go into the old part of Lisbon on the way back, but ran out of time! We'll put a few pictures up next time we find a wi-fi.
