Monday, 7/03/16. In the trade winds at last, so a great 24 hours with no motoring and approx 194 nm covered. We were the closest to Hiva Oa by a smidgeon on the last position report from Yellow Brick and could only just hear Aliena, Blue Summit and Paradise Found on the SSB, so being Net Controller in 5 days time may be a little fanciful.

The weather has remained kind so far, with only a few rain squalls which have targeted each member of crew in turn, so no one has felt victimised. Alcedo has been very happy with full Main and Genoa and the wind just forward of the beam. The crew are firing on all cylinders now and enjoying the excellent lunches produced by Jane and the excellent suppers produced by the Ship's Boy. We had the rest of the fish for supper last night, delicious. The line is going out again tomorrow as we had already taken some pork out of the freezer when the fish got hooked.

Now we have 2229 nm to go and are planning on how to celebrate at 2000 miles, so here's hoping we can keep going as we are.

Alcedo.
