We also went walking in the dunes behind a tributary of the Pioneer River and got a bit lost, but saw these:
The Rainbow Bee Eaters. Absolutely spectacular!
Another great sighting.
Then we have done boat jobs, like changing the Sailor IV filter on the freshwater drinking tap. This has been one of the best investments on the boat, thank you Angus. The Ship’s Boy also earned loads of Brownie points for polishing the stainless in the wind, thereby getting very cold but making the boat look a whole lot better. We have also done another shop and stocked up on wine, very good value and gin as well as healthy things like avocados and vegetables. So we are really hoping for the promised moderation in the wind tomorrow so we can start exploring the Whitsunday Islands.
