Having loaded some fresh provisions onboard we departed Spanish Wells at 5 pm to undertake the passage north overnight. Not our favourite time to be starting an offshore passage . Delaying until Saturday would mean running into a building northeast swell emanating from a storm system in the Canadian maritime which even this far south would mean 2-3 metre swells – certainly not a danger to us but annoying all the same. More importantly there was the distinct possibility of squalls and thunderstorms associated with the incoming cold front from the USA. So  an overnighter it was and we entered little Harbour Cut in the Abaco at 0535 the next morning after a serene motoring trip over glassy seas. Couldn’t have been better under the circumstances.
