The weather became benign for the trip further southwards along Eleuthera so after leaving Hatchet Bay we squeezed an extra stop in at Pau Pau Bay near South Palmetto Settlement, an anchorage we'd missed in the past. When the wind falls light and variable the opportunity presents itself to try some different places although this area is usually quite safe in the prevailing easterly direction winds in any case. We didn't go ashore just enjoyed the tranquillity the anchorage afforded throughout the night and by morning there wasn't a ripple on the water. We continued onwards to Rock Sound which has all-round protection as the wind was due to kick up in the following days - possibly from a southerly direction.

Some pics of the Pau Pau Bay area and of the wonderful calm water we motored over.

Three small Cays form part of the seascape in Pau Pau Bay known as the Pineapple Cays

When we have to motor then this is the best time - flat seas, beautiful colours!

We arrived in Rock Sound later in the day where a small fleet of boats were anchored.
