All ok onboard. Left Bridgetown in overcast skies, heavy squalls and sultry heat which lasted all day and all night whilst we were sailing up the west coast of Barbados. Then followed an uncomfortable (we knew it would be) reach across the trades which with still cloudy skies and 25-30knt squalls made for an unpleasant night's sailing. We either needed to be in the helm seat or on a bed. Walking around the boat either on deck or below was a challenge which guaranteed much body contact with the boat's furniture. However we have now made enough offing from the windward island chain to be able to lay a course for a waypoint 12 miles off Guadaloupe which will then give us an 80 mile (almost) downwind sail to English Harbour, Antigua. ETA around midday Friday 10th. Weather today has improved considerably with the squalls dying away for the most part.
