Great place, friendly people - even a Piggly Wiggly in walking distance! Here are some of our favourite pics:-

The single pivot swing bridge on the Beaufort River just before the      ...............        marina & anchorage beyond...........

Beaufort's lavish prom - complete with swinging bench seats in places              The swing bridge opens it's span  - amazing what pulling a face can do!

Wonderful old colonial homes......                                                                     beautiful old trees - (ED - I'm not an old tree - yet!)

Lots of balustrades..............                                                                              you can take a horse drawn guided tour

Quite a few derelict houses ........                                                                       We wondered what these old steps once led up to - a mansion ?

A church for every denomination in Beaufort.

Another massive tree............                                                                              and palatial residence..............

Peace & tranquillity ........                                                                                    with hardly any traffic.......

An ancient bough snakes across the lawn forming an entrance.......

Many of the city's roads end at the creek  .........                                            with stunning views over the Beaufort River and marshes.

Festive spirit - 2 hours free parking - each meter with a red ribbon attached           Junk chairs at a junk shop - one of the many art studios in town.

                                                                                                       Truly a beautiful place.
