We put down our anchor at 16.00 on Saturday 17th after a 20 hour sail, it was a cracking start to the sailing season, a full moon, dolphins at midnight and average of 6 knots the whole way, a dry sail too!! I hope this has set the standard of sailing for the season. We anchored and made secure just as the most amazing thunder and lightning storm hit Tyrell Bay, felt quite smug we were safe at anchor and secure for the night. Checked in on Sunday morning paying the overtime fees, and began to relax, ready to enjoy the clear blue waters and not just for hull scrubbing! As I write today, 23rd September we are watching a weather front decide if it is going to go North or South or indeed right over the top of us, it is still hurricane season and this front could become a named storm very soon. It looks as if Monday/Tuesday are going to be the days to travel South, we have to be back in Trinidad for the 30th September because as well as doing all the cooking and washing up for my birthday month Chris booked tickets to see the musical Jesus Christ Superstar at the Queens Theatre, Port of Spain, I am very excited.
