Yes eventually an update, a lot has happened and we have move further North but not all in one go.......
We launched on 8th October and moved around the corner to TTSA (Trinidad & Tobago sailing Association) and apart from losing the propeller blades (twice) and all our ‘house’ batteries failing and having to be replaced we had a great time. Finally ready to leave we checked out of Trinidad on the 7th December with Just Imagine and we sailed around the North Coast and made passage to Tobago where we arrived 10th December. It was very windy with a big northerly swell making for an uncomfortable and wet passage, Sharon had to resort to Stugeron again! We liked Tobago very much in spite of the weather not being too kind to us, Just imagine departed for Grenada and we waited for Maris to join us on the 17th December. We spent a lovely Christmas in Tobago, not being able to get ashore because of the surf but enjoyed some good sailing and on the 26th December at 18.00 with a full moon rising we set sails for Grenada and exactly twelve hours later dropped anchor in Clarke Court Bay along with JI, Sunshine Two, Karma and Moondance. I had been a fantastic sail and good to be back amongst friends.
New Years eve was spent at Whisper Cove and by the 3rd January we left CCB and headed for Carriacou, again the winds were from the North East with a big (3 meter) Northerly swell so some of the journey was uncomfortable but for the most part not too bad. We checked out of Carriacou and Grenada on the 4th January and had a brilliant though short sail over to Union Island which is St Vincent and the Grenadines where we checked in and settled ourselves in the anchorage at Frigate Island where we spent the next three day walking ashore and swimming from Quicksilver before we turned around and headed for Petit Martinique and Petit St Vincent where we spent the night and then the following day a good sail up to Tobago Cays where we were able to swim in the Turtle pool! Thankfully we spent the night there as it was not good visability but the following morning was excellent swimming with lot of turtle in very shallow clear water. Then onto Canouan, Saturday 12th January, Sunday dawned bright, sunny and calm, so final snorkel on the reef in Canouan where we saw Southern Stingray, Parrot Fish and more (almost beat swimming in the Turtle Pool on Tobago Cays yesterday.) and then ashore for a late lunch and taxi to the Airport and Maris is on her way to Port of Spain,Trinidad where she catches her flight to Gatwick on Monday evening. We will stay here in Canouan for a few days catching up with things, like this blog, will put some pictures together and get them posted in the next couple of days.
In the meantime we want to say Happy Christmas and all Best Wishes for 2013 and you can always email your news and pictures on sharonmildenhall {CHANGE TO AT} yahoo {DOT} co {DOT} uk . xx
