Bonaire 1

Well, nearly 10 weeks and we are still here, Love Bonaire .....  this small Dutch Coral Island has nothing to dislike about it apart from the fact it is a little expensive.  They produce nothing here, everything is imported, fruit and veg comes mainly from Holland thanks to KLM, a small amount arrives weekly from Venezuela via fishing boat, and container ships call nearly everyday.  They have cruise ships 2 or three a day from Miami during the season and now being hurricane season one a week from Cartagena, Columbia.  The coral reef is a marine park and their main tourism comes from divers usually from the US.  The main town here is Kralendijk, we pay our anchoring fees and take our mooring ball, yes the water really is this colour.  Sue and Dag take us for a days snorkelling on Nordlys.

Too quickly Sue and Dag have to leave for Curacao, and we settle down to hull scrubbing, laundry and general mundane tasks,

With sunsets and fishes in abundance, we get a message from Nordlys to say if we do not need to be in Curacao to stay put, it is far nicer in Bonaire, so we are here for the long haul....
