From Othoni to Erikoussa Islands - 2nd September 2013

Othoni Island,
Greece Crew: Frank
and Jackie Whilst we don’t
get to explore its hinterland in the twenty four hours we
spend here it is evident Othoni is a very lush and scenic
island. Its village/port has two mini markets and several
tavernas for visiting yachties and day excursionists from
nearby Corfu. In our walk around the place we found the
natives to be warm and friendly.

19:35.022E Erikoussa Island We decide to check out this
little island just 8 nm NE of Othoni as we understand it has
a lovely bay suitable for anchoring in sand with clear
waters for swimming. We are not disappointed. No sooner
anchored we are in the water.
Tuesday 3
September
Erikoussa
Island, Greece We wake up to a
lovely morning with calm waters and no wind. After a swim we
go ashore in rubber dubby. We find a nice, clean and tidy
village which we have a walk around in the hot morning sun
before taking a coffee and later lunch at a pleasant
beachside restaurant. Birgitta arrives in the
afternoon. Murray and Lynn have been joined by Murray’s
sister Agnes. They advise they had sought shelter the night
before in Otranto, Italy before crossing to Greece early
this morning. After a much needed swim the three join us for
sundowners and the big catch up. Later we go over to Birgitta
for dinner. A most enjoyable evening.
