Saturday 21 May 2011 ( Day 11 )

07:15 Awoke. Weather unchanged; still heavy roll.

07:30 Mess breakfast

08:30 Went onto Bootlegger; batteries 23.8V put on charge

10:00 Bridge Communal Coffee

10:30 Sat out on Bridge wing in warm sunshine reading. Fell asleep

Noon Position: 45.50N 19:35W  C.O.G. 81 degrees; S.O.G.18:4kt; vessel rolling still in rough seas. Wind WSW.

800.3nm to go to Pilot pick up position off Southampton Water.

Captain advises present wave height is forecast to increase tonight from present 3 m to 4.5m which would produce unacceptable and potentially dangerous roll on ship. Option is a radical change of course that would add another day to the passage. Next forecast due at 14:00.

12:30  Lunch; Soup; chicken with fried potato and onions. Dessert - mixed fruit.

13:25  E-mailed log to my beloved in Ballabeg.

14:00  Returned to Bootlegger. Made a coffee. Did some reading up on coms. Checked battery water levels. Did a little topping up.

16:30 Switched all off except chart plotter. Battery reading: 25.6V. Returned to cabin.

Sea remains rough with 2.5 – 3 m breaking wave and heavy roll of ship. Wind now in the west. S.O.G. 18.2kt

16:30 Sat out on the Bridge wing making most of the sun we’re getting today.

17:30 Evening meal. Pancakes, my favourite ! Had four.

Tried putting my photo/video Picassa compilation on a stick for Chief Engineer Sergei.

Result pics appeared on stick all out of sequence . Working on overcoming until 01:30 !
