10.00 17:08.867N 62:57.881 Left Nevis anchorage to resume route to
Martinique with planned stopover in Des Hais, Guadeloupe. Found ESE winds
of 30+ on clearing shelter of anchorage and large seas. The wind was to
shy for sailing the course and the waves were stoppers reducing the boat speed
down to as much as 2.5kts. Not as forecast. Agreed that as we are in no
hurry to make for the shelter of Basseterre where we could hopefully also get gas
as we are out, until such time as the weather conditions become more favourable.

13.00 17:17.516N 62:43.730W Arrived at Basseterre after pleasant sail up
from Nevis. Dropped anchor off Marina entrance after being advised
it was full with boats that had planned to leave but that remained due to the
weather.

18.00 Moved into Marina. Bows to at fuel dock. In the nick of time,
heavens opened. Horrible night.

20.00 Went for dinner and then took a walk around to the ‘Stone Wall’ bar
and restaurant where a St Patrick’s Day party was in full swing.
Had a good night.

Met an amazing 81 year old June, well known local restauranter from Nevis,
mother of Simone who runs the Stone Wall. It was very much a
family affair with son Richard and other daughters from her family of seven
present. Got back to Bootlegger around 02.00. A good night.
