16.30 17:17N 62:43W FWE. At anchor just off Port Zante Marina, Basseterre
in easy reach by tender. Beautiful evening. Generator turned off (2 hour
run)

Been a great sail down from Saba in good weather making it all worthwhile.
The island looks really beautiful from what I've seen of it from the
water, again like Saba, dramatic mountain range at its centre. I wish I
could stay to spend some time to explore the place. I understand there is
a tour around the island that includes a luxury train ride on an old sugar
plantation railway that encircles thee island. Sadly I must press on as I
have to be in Pointe a Pitre, Guadeloupe by the 23rd January to meet with
Amel, Guadeloupe and others to arrange for various works to be done on
Bootlegger by various trades and to de-commission her before my return to
the UK at the end of the month.

Dropped tender and went ashore for a stroll around Basseterre and a drink
or two followed by dinner before returning to Bootlegger at 2100 hrs.
Turning in now (21.20) as another early start for the long passage to
Guadeloupe tomorrow.
