09:50 41:11.12N 9:27.978E Picked up well embedded anchor and departed Cala Portese along with most other boats who had also determined it was time to leave on this fine morning. Half an hour after motoring out of the cala we put out all sails and killed the engine.

11:30 Put donkey on to motor sail and maintain necessary 6.5 to 7kts as wind has dropped right off. Rpm 1800 with main and mizzen still out held steady with gybe preventers as what wind there is now virtually up the chuff. CSE: 154 degrees SOG: 6.5kts

Noon 41:11.12N 9:27.98E Since 11: Wind NW 11 kts CSE 154 degrees SOG 6.7kts DTG: 94 nm ETA

17:00 40:29.135N 9:50.77E Motoring. Wind veered by 180 degrees to south and as such, right on the nose as we steer a course of 172 degrees. Pushing current with consequential drop in speed to SOG: 5.5 kts with engine doing 2,000 rpm. Decide to overnight in Arbatax marina. DTG to same: 33 nm giving us an ETA of around 23.30 hrs 

19:00 40:15.866N 9:47.44E With wind from the south and on the nose, motoring. SOG: 7kts DTG to Arbatax:18.7 nm ETA 22:00, 12 hrs and 80 nm since our departure. This will leave us 30 nm to go to our ultimate destination - Marina Villaputzu,

22:00 39:56.27N 9:42.22E Arrive Arbatax marina FWE. 12 hrs and 80nm has brought us to this small port on the east cost of Sardinia. We understand there are various means of transport from here to both airports to the north and south of the island as well as ferries to link with mainland Italy airports.
