Thurs 26 to Sat 28 May Three sunny days Fly Heathrow to Athens, express coach to Kalamata, wash down, water and provision up, GGs fly home, we head to Kitries for birthday celebrations/Chiefs commiserations – 6nm (M1.5)

Thursday 26 Chilly in London, hot in Athens, 25 in Kalamata

Good flight 0710 BA to Athens despite French air traffic control strike, disembark quickly with just hand luggage to find metro and busses on strike. Think ripped off by fast taxi to bus station (60 euros), to find the 330 to Kalamata not running, but the 430 express was.12.40euros each. Mway all the way thro spectacular mountains, warning signs to have chains in winter, then fertile plain, see open cast coal mine and power stations, arrive Kalamata 715pm.6euros taxi to marina. All well on board, just very dirty from recent brown rain. Beer with GGs and Tim & Sue (from Topsham) on Discovery 55 Bellatrix Too, fish supper and more beer on Astra, deep sleep

Friday 27 wash off brown muck, some shopping – discover Jumbo allsorts superstore, flush thro water and fill fwd tank etc Eat at Argos
