20 September – lazy start, sightseeing tour along E coast of Paxoi going close in at pretty small village of Longos and large bay and village at Lakka, and on to lovely Petriti 10nm S of Corfu Town

Jules ashore for early coffee at Taverna. Motor along E coast of Paxoi going in really close at Longos and Lakka, but not landing. Sun low and v clear sky. Suprisingly hot after cool night. Really good sail for last hour as fetch in to fishing village Petriti. Bows to on quay next to friendly Brits who waved us in at Fiskhardo some days ago. First time we have gone bows to here. D`fly washing afternoon. Lots of fishermen mending nets on main quay . They don’t go out tonight as full moon, and the fish “go everywhere” (rather than get attracted to their floating lights). Free showers so have beer at friendly taverna. Owner understands we don’t stay for meal. “We do not rip you off here!” Really must eat here on next visit. Chilly night. (Well, 18 degrees at dawn!) Realise we fly home a month from today!
