43:23.2N 4E:50.2E Wednesday 15 October Short motor to Navy Service yard, Port a Sec, near Port St Louis du Rhone in the Golfe de Fos Depart Sausset-les-Pins 0940 Arrive Navy Service 1310 14nm M3.25 S0 Sun, no wind. Flat calm Bliss. First night for ages haven`t set the morning alarm! Stary night, so cabin a cool 16degrees first thing. Mercury not been that low for a long time. Early run ashore for provisions. No great hurry today, at last. Yesterday`s swell has disappeared. Motor a few miles W and into industrial Golfe de Fos. Sails hoisted to dry off dew and dry out for winter storage below. Most convenient. Keep clear of dredged fairway and big tankers arriving and leaving. 1234 lower main for 2014. Motor up canal that leads to Port St Louis – not sure where yard is. See boats alongside tatty quay, and many lifted out ashore. No signage, so ask other yachties, and they confirm it is. Find space alongside. Made it. Check in at office and confirm liftout is at 1000 tomorrow. Get sails off and sort of folded and below. Many mozis around and as dusk approaches. Dig out and rig nets for fore and main hatch. They do the trick. |
