Sunday 1 May Sailed off anchor, but too light so motor E. Wind soon increased to sail all way to Koroni. Anchor amongst boulders. Lovely meal ashore. Gusty NW f3 to give wet bum ride back to L`ula 20nmS2.25 M0.75 Cold calm night, heavy dew, clouded over after lunchSWf2 increasing to 4 Crew advise “afraid it`s another sunny day!” Main up, anchor up 1145, but progress too slow. Motor till wind fills in from astern. Builds as gybe around S most headland of Peloponnese W finger, Ag Akritas, and fresh wind lasts all way occ touching 8knts, to anchorage just off Koroni .Spot large area of sand for anchor in 18ft. Pupils did all sailing and anchor work today – Jane got well into book. Ashore for excellent fish meal and Easter fireworks, spotting we anchored amongst seabed boulders - better further inshore or to NW. Place not so nice as previous ports.See my new office! Strong NWf3 creates nasty chop, get wet bums as duck back to L`ula. V gusty till 1300. Latest forecast for tomorrow gives f4 0600, f5 0900, f6 1200. Better be up early to extract chain from boulders before too windy |
