Sun 15 June All of 4nm to neighbouring island of Kalamos

Depart Kastos 1115

Arrive Kalamos 1215 4nm S0.2 M0.8

Sun and really hot

Forehatch mozie net and heat tablet did the trick. But less success with outboard – wouldn`t start. Seemed to go OK straight after slight dunking back along, but not now. Father`s day – card from Rach, txt from Jamie. Swim ashore to rig floating bow lines for easy slip. Good controlled exit. Breeze in channel between two islands, so reach across with genoa for 10 minutes! Harbourmaster/Restaurant owner George spots us coming. He spots EVERY boat coming. Efficiently guided to only laidline in port, as he knows we go bows to. Drop kedge too. Only one other boat already in. Head for beach to S. Harbour. Port fills by evening. Not heaving as flotillas/bareboats nearer base for changeover days.

Monday 16 June Stay another day. Treck up towards saddle. Frenchies and Lympies arrive.

Sun and really really hot

Manage to find track up past church and towards saddle between 764m and 678m peaks. Bit late setting off. Gets really hot so don`t get to top. Another time. Back on board rig sun awning. V effective – keeps cabin temp down to 28, remarkably comfortable. Nice Frenchies Alain and Anne have arrived alongside. Invited for strong afterlunch coffee onboard Odyssee – skip has mild Nescafe with D`fly milk, Jane takes D`fly  cuppa tea. Chris and Kay Coomber (fellow Lympstonians) arrive on Halcyon. Arrange evening drinks on board and meal at Georges. Lots of nattering. Great evening. They are boat shopping too, but sticking with a cat.
