27 September Motor a few miles S to Emerald Bay on Andi Paxoi, swims, hang about in sun for nearly 4 hours, then great reach 11nm NW across to Parga on mainland ready to drop off Duncan tomorrow. Hilarious evening on board
Depart Mongonisi 1020
Arrive Parga 1700 16nm
Heavy dew. No wind, then WNW f3/4 in afternoon, as forecast by poseidon

“Bass our finest ale” bar mat needed to wipe heavy dew. Remaining moisture quickly burnt off by sun. Jane pops ashore to get forecast on ipad. Clean hoist of kedge. Now have map so discover Emerald bay is really Voutoumi Beach. The bay is still a spectacular emerald colour. All have swims. Many yachts have same idea. Most move on soon. Wasps a nuisance. Duncan has long walk on land, aided by newly purchased map. Skip and Jane soak up sun onboard. Anchor raised 1500. Fast sail on beam reach across to Parga. Wind has filled in just as forecast by poseidon. Duncan helms. Maintain 6 knts, surfin up to 7. See a few Neilson yachts (they have orange PV strips on genoas) try to sail or motor NNW against wind and lop, and turn back for Parga. Guess changeover day tomorrow (Sat) or Sun and they need to get back to base. Poseidon says wind will drop after dark, and be light tomorrow am, so they don’t have to rush. Sail right into bay to drop sails. Good shelter from WNW. Neilson and Sailing Holidays flotillas already crammed in small harbour so anchor off sunbed clad beach just outside swim buoys in 17ft. Nice music from nearby taverna. Wind feels warm when sun up. Cooler after sunset so fleeces out again. Just OK for supper in cockpit. Wind dies about 2100. Hilarious evening follows when Jane goes to copy Duncan’s photos, and finds they are in fact 54 video clips, with sound! All sorts of sights and sounds. No wonder memory card nearly full. First outing for Duncan’s new camera. Promises to read the instructions before next outing. Sadly Jane in charge of delete button. Slight swell all night. Halyards gently rattling in mast.
