Aug – see Angela off on 1000 Flying Dolphin, shopping, catchup on emails, and
sail under genny 1.5 miles to Mongonisi, inlet on S tip of Paxoi
1.5nm
Easy day. Accompany Angela and bags to ferry terminal an N end of Gaios
inlet. Trad ferry departs first, and the Flying Dolphin hydrofoil leaves for
Corfu town about 1030. Should take about an hour to get there. Pop in to town
for shopping, catchup on emails with coffee and orange juice, and motor out thro
S entrance. Keel lift seems to be working without a manual pump to start. So
much easier as don’t have to dive in locker to activate manual switchover. Moor
bows to at Mongonisi Jane heads for sun lounger on beach. Skip still feeling
quite groggy with cold and cough so snoozes – for a couple of hour! Ashore for
beer and facebook. Back for cold meats and freshly made bruschetta, to use up
old bread. Bat picks up wifi from beach taverna, so more emails.Very peaceful
evening.

Aug – have decided to stay another day/night and chill out. Families on small
beach, boats anchored off and moored to quay coming and going, loos ashore, and
the wifi– so life but still v relaxing. Discover evidence of visitation
overnight – tom and salami  show signs of being nibbled – a four legger, or
perhaps a winged friend... Who knows. Will fit empty water bottles to warps
tonight. Skip gets blogs drafted, Jane tries sun lounger again. Entertainment of
flotilla coming in stern to. Could be their first day. Gotta go and watch.
Learning by someone else doing! Well that was fun. Lots of help and instruction
from the flotilla leaders. What we have seen over last few weeks:
- a cat reversing in, and totally forgetting (or not realising) to drop the bow anchor
 - sloop reversing in with bow anchor being dropped by remote control from cockpit – but anchor and chain going into their rubber duck!
 - reversing in at speed and finding the “anchor down” button fails

Beer at the Swan tonight, as it’s Sunday. Preparations for a wedding party
evident. The bride and groom arrived by boat about 2200, to fireworks and
“Mamamia”. Lots of partying, and lots of Greek music. Jane engaged ear plugs.
