Rain and wind arrives midday.

Royan marina looks tired. Despite the attraction of a town with shops and chandleries decide to hop across to the newish marina at Port Medoc. Looking up the estuary there is nothing on the horizon, just the grey water. It is huge! Crab across as loads of tide running. Good shout. Friendly staff, excellent facilities (even had to cool down the shower!) – shame the location is away from civilisation, but some natives did appear in the evening and make the marina bistro/bar a lively place. Good beer – food looked fine too. We retired to D`fly for bbeans and merget sausages.
