38:56.96N 20:45.79E Monday 22 September Cleopatra marina, Preveza Liveloula winterised and lifted out, Dragonfly prepared for launch at 1500 Arrived Cleopatra yesterday afternoon. Started winterising Lula. Dropped and stowed mainsail, began swapping boat bits to D`fly – lifejackets, sailing togs, tools, provisions etc etc. Today early start for skip and Jamie as lots of winterisation/Dragonfly prep to do. Lula lifted out by Ionian 0900. Jane got 1000 watertaxi to Preveza Town for voyage provisions. Little wind so flew genoa to dry dew, drop, fold and stow below. D`fly collected for launch early, 1430. Engine fires first time, and seawater shooting from exhaust well, so cooling system airtight. Motor all of 100m to pontoon in Cleopatra. Get asked to move. Strong f4 and strange cross current. D`fly`s wing keel hooks neighbours bowline so need marina rib to tow off. Reberth safely. Still able to get water hose/elect cable to reach services box with remainder of our prepaid credit. All working hard. Exhausted. Just enough energy to walk to nearby Taverna, Stanos, for last Greek supper of 2014. Back on board (D`fly) check latest forecast. Lots of wind due, so may not be setting off noon tomorrow after all. Anyway, still lots to do to get D`fly seaworthy and ready to cast off, and Lula ready for six months of winter. Let`s see what tomorrow brings ….. |
