15 July getting wrestless after two nights anchored, so head off to next island on way to Corfu

Arrive South Bay, Nisos Erikoussa 1230 10nm

NW5, then fades to NW2, and of course sun

 

Been blowing boots for two days now, squalls coming down valley to bay we and others anchored in. No kindle signal for Passage weather – navtex giving 5 or 6, less E of 19.50, which runs down middle of Corfu. decide to make an early start and get closer to Corfu for Ed pickup on Wed. will look at Erikoussa 10m E and if no good press on to Corfu. Good 5s, 6s and a bit of 7knt under 3.4 genny, but after an hour dies so need full main & motor to assist. Many surprises – only two boats (cats) already in South Bay, so plenty of room. Anchor in 14ft, making sure not too close to elect generating building. Sea coldest yet. A couple of fw showers on each. A minimarket selling fresh bread, and best we`ve tasted since leaving Corsica (France). Real Greek feel to this quiet unspoilt place. Good kindle signal. Really windy till midnight (as per Passage w). Glad got new 15kg spade n much of 40m chain out. We like this place lots. May return with guests second half.
