Thursday 17 July Gentle sail most of way NNWand creep over 2m bar to village of Sivota (Mourtos) on mainland

Depart Lacca 1215

Arrive Sivota 1545 11nm 1M 2.5S

Duck ashore for bread. Outboard still not starting well. Relieved to depart without any damage. Just enough WSW wind to run across to Island group and mainland village of Sivota. Where Rach stayed for a while on way to Vassiliki (and we presumed it was the other Sivota just E of Vassiliki !).Just make over 3knts. George on wheel. Decide try quick way in over 2m bar between mainland and Nickolaos Island. Have done with D`fly, same draft as Liveloula, but we had the keel up a bit. Rod`s pilot says 2m depth, so gives us 20cm to spare. Look at that on your ruler! Creep thro dead slow with depth sounder alarm squealing (haven`t worked out how to turn it off yet!).Anchor in 12ft in little bay with exclusive development complex and beach with many umbrellas at head. Digs in well. Late arrivals go stern to complex pontoon/rocks. Seem to have trouble getting their anchors to hold. Duck long way around headland to village. Troublesome o`board start again. Menacing thundery clouds dissipate. Thought mini market prices would have been keener here on mainland, but not so. Beers 4euros too.(On bread run this am noticed beers at our favourite quiet Mandis bar in Lacca would have been 2.5euros – some difference.) But lovely sunset. Stunning views as duck back to L`la  for supper. Dead calm. No annoying neighbours here. Music from complex good, and not too loud – but later could hear boom boom stuff from distant water park. Glad we didn`t anchor over there, as many did.
