20 Aug – need to show Ang some quieter Greece so head S to Patriti, where we should get a quiet night

Arrive Patriti 1600, 10nm

No wind, then a nice SWf4

 

Motor S along coast. Notice planes landing don`t clear mast of anchored yacht by much! See residence of former Greek Royal family. Understand Prince Phillip spent some of his early years here till their monarchy was kicked out. Stop on way to let D`fly drift and all go for swim. Single dolphin is closeby, but doesn’t come to say hello. Wind picks up, starts to blow us back to Corfu. Hoist sails and cream along at 4/5knts. Think about pressing on to Paxoi, but decide too far so have nice sail towards mainland and then tack and fetch back to just lay Petriti. Sail right into anchorage with last few yards under motor. Anchor in 12 ft. Skip and Ang go for stroll ashore. Meal on board, and then Greek Dancing music starts at one of the adjacent tavernas. Not quite as bad as the Corfu boom boom “music”, and it stops at a reasonable hour.
