21 September Duncan flies in today, and Jules is off to her hotel tonight, so head up N to anchor by NAOK YC, just off Corfu Old Fort

Bit of wind at start and end.

 

Start off with whites at a pleasant 4knts, on stbd but fades. Motor much of way. So clear now air is cooler. See coastal mountains on mainland and numerous peaks way beyond. Pass in close to Mon Repos, palace just S of Corfu town, where  Duke of Edinburgh spent his early childhood days before the Greek monarchy had to do a runner. Anchor in close off old fort. NAOK empty compared with all super yachts outside and gin palaces inside last time we visited. Big Bav already tied up as GGs and Keoughs have already disembarked for early flight home. Just get duck blown up in time to motor ashore and meet Jane’s bruv Duncan. All swim. Jules ashore with bags to find booked hotel, with  BATH! Jane visits BATH as skip goes shopping. Get all on list save cucumber, mince and bread. Will try early tomorrow,but Sunday. Discover next crew for big Bav checked in OK, but managed to miss flight, so expensive later flight instead. don’y know how/why, yet. Negotiate free entry to Fort to have early evening beers at bar with wonderful views over bay. All eat on board. Jules run ashore in duck to end her voyage. Music from nearby bar goes till 0400, but relatively quiet and good taste (compared with deafening boom boom stuff on last visit). Pleasant tho rolly night without need for earplugs.
