22 September – Return to lovely bays on NE tip of Corfu Island and anchor
up for night
Depart NAOK 1100
Arrive Ay Stefanos 1315 10nm
Bit cloudy NNWf2
Lie in. Bliss. Pressure to do miles between pick ups/drop offs now gone.
Duck ashore – get bread, but no sign of Jules (or cucumber/mince). Must be
having lie in too.Decide to revisit bays to N first, then head S. Have to drop
Duncan off at Parga on mainland next sat. Easy. Not enough wind to sail, so
motor all way. Anchor close in so can paddle duck ashore. Ay Stefinos village
feels quite classy. Dutch flotilla (tiptopsailing) arrive and go stern to small
taverna quay for night. Have difficulty laying danforth style bowers. Go for
walk along what appears to be coastal footpath to N. Find cucumber, and more of
nice rose. Excellent pasta on board. getting even more chilly. Wear sweatshirt
for first time. Almost need trousers. Laid anchor expecting NNW breeze, if any,
as none forecast on Poseidon. 0300 f4/5 E blowing in to bay. We’re only 100m
from what is now a lee shore. Lay out more chain. Anchor seems to have swung and
dug in Germans in a bit closer lifted anchor and headed out to sea, at 0300!
Wind dies couple of hours later, so have good sleep from then.
