41:13.5N 13:05.9E Friday 3 October Good morning wind, then motor NW along flatter coast to lump of Circio. Just one space left! Depart Procida 0430 Arrive Circio 1515, 54nm M4 S6.5 Another sunny day, but not much wind so lots of motoring Lifting anchor wakes Jane! Really dark. Take wide berth out of bay to keep clear of net/pot markers spotted on way in yesterday. Head N thro channel between Procida Island and mainland. Several ferries rushing about even at this hour. Hoist sails as soon as clear. Jane can now head back to bed. Chartplotter says Circio is 52nm 301degrees. Engine off 0530. Good land breeze gives us 5/6knts close reach. 0620 colours emerge, 0728 sun peeps out from clouds astern, 0800 jacket off, leggings off/shorts on.1015 wind goes aft – dies midday so motorsail. V hot sun in clear air. Slight breeze is from dead ahead so motor last 11nm. Marina is close to big cities, so really full with permanent berths. Go alongside big yacht on end of pontoon, but told must move to the one vacant berth. Tight squeeze to get in. Will be difficult exit in reverse tomorrow – would have preferred to stay alongside for easy early departure in dark. All quiet ashore. Expensive 10ltrs diesel – just under 20 euros. 35 euros for night. Climb up to pretty hillside town – looks pretty old! |
