Wednesday 3 September Sunny first thing. Clouds over. Beat S around bottom of Kastos, run back up E coast to Kastos village.

Depart Port Atheni 0930 Arrive Kastos 1300 15nm M.5 S3

Motor around NE corner of Meganisi to find decent SSE f3. We head SSW on long port tack. Julie gets hang of a wheel and telltales. Judge tack onto stbd just right to clear S tip of Kastos. Ease sheets and sail couple of miles up E coast to lovely harbour of Kastos. Drop anchor well off quay and go stern to. More just right as use all 45m of chain. Needed as holding not great here. Big shower just after we arrive. Loads more arrive and fill harbour, many going stern to lamp posts on NW side of harbour. Skip and Jane have explored many island paths here before, but still find new routes late afternoon, when sun returns. Get generator out on quay for 45 mins again. Batteries getting low feeding fridge. Not much sun to fuel flexible solar cells, and done hardly any motoring so alternator been quiet too. Visit delightful Windmill taverna for early evening drinks.
