Fly to Beziers, taxi to Port St Louis, launch Dragonfly, wash off grime, wait for Mistral to blow through
43:23.2N 4:48.4E Mon 15 to Sat 26 June Washed off grime, short motor to Marina in basin at Port St Louis du Rhone, Mistralled for 4 more days Monday - Flew Bristol to Bezier, picked up by marina taxi for transfer to a very grubby D`fly. Tuesday – Washed off loads of industrial dust, launched 1000 –no water alongside so motored 1NM along canal to the marina in the large basin at Port St Louis du Rhone Wednesday to Friday – F5/6 mistral blowing. Sunny. Ready for sea but unwise to cast off with strong offshore mistral. Safe here, but a bit boring. Yachts with masts on deck arriving down fast flowing Grande Rhone. No way we could motor upstream, then down Le Petit Rhone to get to Canal du Midi, just have to wait till mistral blows out. Saturday – nice party at harbour office for all locals and visitors – moules and wine. Meet architect who designed a couple of properties in Lympstone! |
