Big boat to stbd had dropped/dragged his anchor across ours. They had come in under emergency tiller when v windy, and bower hadn’t taken so laid kedge by rib. They seemed to have a hired skip who came out in duck to help us free. Genoa winch to wind in warp, then 14m chain by hand (4 hands!) and 4:1 hoist for last few ft.(Rigged new hoist some weeks ago. Used to lower/raise outboard and lift kedge out of water into transom basket, and avoid dodgy back work) Got away 0815. Such clear golden light. Dead flat. Provisions getting low so quick stop alongside pontoon at Spartakhori for girls to go shopping in attractive village up high. Skip does a few blogs. Plan swim at Skorpios (The Aristotle Onasis Island). Heavy rain showers and anchorage in pilot now buoyed off. Captains Mate advises there is a new owner – obviously less keen on visitors. Don’t stop. Showers clear. Good sail N. Anchor in off Levkas E coast just before entrance to canal for swim. Up canal, quick fuel top up (21.58 euros), and in to marina berth for a treat. About 40euros, and about 8 euros(cash) for time on a shower card. Didn’t use all card time, and showers a bit wiffy. Drinks and nibbles on Halycon (Chris and Kay). Wow, their Prout 37 has loads of room and has been fitted out to v high spec. Spacious!
