Tues 17 June Nice fetch W to deepwater bay Spartakhori, on N coats of Meganisi

Depart Kalamos1120

Arrive Spartakhori 1445 14nm S1.5 M1.75

Bit of rain and cloudy, but warm SW3/4

Awake to low cloud on Kalamos mountains, and spots of rain. Didn`t see that coming after heat of yesterday! Need to get towards Preveza for Vigdis survey on Wed. Haven`t been to Meganisi this year – lets see if wind is favourable. Motor anticlockwise round Kalamos. Poke into Eposkopi on NE coast. Friendly Brits warn only space for 3 or 4 on quay as have to keep area to W clear for mainland ferry and foul chains prevent laying anchor to E. Looks V quiet pretty place with pine clad slopes. Must stop here one day. Refuel underway. Good breeze when clear of channel, hoist sails 1300 -  no need for a reef. Power WNW sheets eased a tad on port. Build to 5.5knts Hold all way till ¼ mile off when wind dies in lee of land. Friendly Taverna owner to show us where to tie up to quay. All boats bows to with laid lines as shallow in close and vv deep off. Many Brits, some elderly vessels. Some from Plymouth, Teignmouth, Somerset, one skipper has a sister in Exmouth. Climb to village for beer with a view. Another beer with a view at shoreside tavern. Then sausages and baked beans on board!! N tomorrow for survey in  Preveza.
