Last night the wind backed to the south, pushing us to the west of our course to keep our sails full. This time it was Phil who wanted to reef and we had passing gusts throughout the night, probably from clouds that we couldn’t see as there was no moon. We sailed into the tropics at around 2100 and it’s definitely getting warmer.

This morning the wind had backed far enough toward the South East that we could gybe to put the wind on our starboard side and start heading directly for Savusavu: our first change of tack this passage. The wind is still variable in strength, but we are probably averaging 5 knots, with 330 nm to go.
