We are continuing to make reasonable progress. Last night the wind veered toward the south, pushing us west of our course and there was a choppy sea making it an uncomfortable night. Today our course has improved but the sea continued lumpy and only now seems to be calming down a bit, so hopefully we’ll get more sleep tonight.

We have been checking in twice a day with the South Pacific Cruisers radio net and have been able to follow the progress of the boats that left Fiji at the same time as us. All are having similar conditions. We are also talking directly with the yacht that is closest to us and exchanging emails with Pennygowan, who we met on a couple of occasions around Fiji. With modern communications you are not so much on your own now.

Our noon to noon run was 129 miles.
