29th June We left UaPou and sailed the 25 miles north to Nuku Hiva with a brisk Easterly wind having first extricated ourselves from the anchorage. Our stern anchor was well dug in and a German yacht had anchored so as to lay over our main anchor.
Nuku Hiva is the largest of the Marquesas and is the main administrative center. We anchored in the main bay which was a bit rolly but we have come to expect that now. The wifi is very weak and unreliable so we will do a picture blog when we can get a more reliable signal.
