Boat Yard for maintenance 35:44.5S, 174:20.84E
Well the last two weeks have been spent in Norsand boatyard preparing Serenity for the next year and catching up on some long term projects. Here are just a few of the jobs completed, of course she gets new antifouling as well. Into the cradle for hauling out. And out she comes with a remarkably clean bottom after almost nine months The plumbing gets sorted. Phil replaces the gooseneck fitting on the mast, and works on the stern tube seal, where the propshaft goes out through the hull The upholstery work continues, and varnishing is started. Clean off all the boatyard grime, And bright and shiny ready to launch. We are now in Whangarei town marina again and will be doing a bit more cruising locally. Sarah’s weight loss and high pulse rate along with other symptoms have now been diagnosed as being caused by hyperthyroidism which needs to be sorted before we head up to the tropics again. We don’t know as yet when we are likely to leave New Zealand. Sent from Mail for Windows 10 |
