Since leaving Bodrum we have experienced the whole range of Mediterranean
wind conditions, 35kts westerlies, 34kt easterlies, flat calms, 25kt south
easterlies, 10 knot south westerlies, everything so far except northerlies.
The forecasts have also proved to be remarkably accurate and we have once
more taken shelter from some strong westerlies blowing through the straits
between Sicily and Tunisia.
We have anchored in the small harbour of Porto Palo on the SE tip of Sicily
and will leave early tomorrow morning for Bizerte in Tunisia with more
favourable winds.
