On the crossing from the Marquesas Islands to the Tuamotu Islands we found it hard to believe that we saw little wildlife other than a few birds.  During the second night I saw phosphorescence in the water, I really hoped it was Dolphins coming to play, even though it was dark, but the long streams of beautiful, sparkling green lights were too elusive to be sure, certainly not significant enough to wake Steve.

I have recently read and thoroughly enjoyed a book by Terry Darlington and was delighted to read about when Dolphins first visited their boat.......

......they will say "Can we join you for a moment in your own world, right here and now because it would suit us to do so?"

.....there they are in the sunlight, the water shining on them, your own special creatures from another world come to have a laugh, just with you.....it was the most wonderful moment.

He has captured the experience so beautifully.
