Gibraltar again
36:08.1N 05:21.2W Having spent 8 days in Morocco we have come back to Gibraltar so that Chris and Bethan can fly home and to take a last look around Andalucia. We have also done the touristy bits of Gib, going up to the top of the rock, photographing the Barbary Apes, going into the siege tunnels, etc, etc.
For those eagle eyed amongst you, if you look carefully you can see “Curious” in Queensway Quay marina in the background.
The rock forms one of the twin pillars of Hercules known in throughout the ancient world as the gateway to unknown lands beyond. The straits if Gibraltar are incredibly busy shipping lanes with ships of all shapes and sizes whizzing by at great speed, making for some exciting sailing as we crossed their paths en route to Morocco just across the straits. It is almost always very windy and we had 30 knots going and 25knots returning giving Bethan an exciting introduction to sailing! She is now ready for the Caribbean!!!!! Internal Virus Database is out-of-date.
